Sending commands over HTTPS

Some integrations may require the use of TLS/HTTPS to encrypt the communication between the Cargo Spectre and the client. Cargo Spectre provides a dynamic DNS endpoint that supports HTTPS over TLS via the *.spectrecore.com hostname, allowing secure communication for these integrations. To use HTTPS:

  • Use port 7101 instead of 7100.
  • Hyphenate the IP address of the Cargo Spectre and append .spectrecore.com to it.

For example, if the local IP address of the Cargo Spectre is 10.1.1.17, the HTTPS endpoint would be 10-1-1-17.spectrecore.com.

Cargo Spectre scan data remains within the local network and is not transmitted to the cloud during HTTPS (TLS) communication.
